I know the title seems like I blog every day... truth be told... this is only my third post of the YEAR!
Ok, I've been busy... lost focus....been lazy.... really I forgot about my blog.
Today we are getting ready to run errands and I am prodding the girls to get dressed, beds made, trash picked up in their room, and it is almost noon. We may never get our errands run!
OK, I must confess, I am still in my robe. But getting my clothes on is the only thing I must do.
My goal these next few days is to ponder 2011 and pray about my goals for 2012.

March madness!

Can you believe that March is over... That means I am another year older, it is springish in Odessa, only 37 days of school left and there are only 9 months until Christmas! Sorry, just had to say it!
I know you thought I would have something to say about basketball... Well the only thing I know is that UCONN Beat Butler....
Soccer and track have begun....but for only one child. Keely has injured her Achilles tendon and is not able to run, therefore has had to drop out of soccer for at least one season. She is able to participate in the track meet, she can throw the javelin.
School is nearing an end. Allison's 5th grade trip is this weekend~! I can't believe I am a parent of a 5th grader... and yes I am still smarter! (she may not think so)
Bible Drill state competition will be next week (as well as the track meet, pray for me!!!!!) Allison has done very well. What a great thing... hiding God's Word in your heart!
I am ready for our busy April schedule! Soccer, Bible Drill, trips, birthdays, track, and I am sure there will be so much more.
Thank you Lord for the ability to do so much. May everything we say and do be to your glory and honor.... you are the giver of all things!

What happens when you get behind!

I can tell you what happens when you don't keep up with your daily tasks.... you loose contact with your friends. I have been behind at home for so long that my blog has been neglected! I guess that is the price you pay for having a 6000 sq ft. home!

Summer trips, preparing for school, 3rd grade, 5th grade, and teaching preschool, cleaning the house, water leaks and yard work... these are a few of the things that consume me....
Campaigning, and teaching, sunday school and Choir, cooking and friendships... these are a few of my favorite things....
They are very rewarding things in my life, but the computer has not been one of them!!!!

Girls are growing, and miles are being put on the car!

So many things to look forward to.... turning 40, my oldest turning 10, being married to the same man for 16 years, my youngest turning 8...... then there are so many things to look forward to that I don't have a clue they will happen... Suddenly summer!

Summer is a time for relaxing, reading, swimming, and doing a whole lot of nothing! Well, not the the Kirk household!
We began our summer by moving our good friend Larry into our house. He will be with us until he gets his knee replaced and finds a house. Larry is a welcome addition to our chaos!
We then took a vacation to Great Wolf Lodge www.greatwolf.com What an awesome time we had as a family. Over 80,000 sq feet of indoor waterpark!!!! and a fun game (Magiquest) in the hotel.
Our cousins from Lamesa came for a few days to swim and have fun!

We then had a brief visit from J's sis Kay and her family.
Vacation Bible School happened the week after the Adams family left for Colorado. I love VBS. What a ministry it is! We have over 200 children attend and the majority of the children are from the Daycare at the YMCA! How awesome is it to share Jesus with so many children. This year I switched gears and taught 2nd grade! I had been directing the nursery for a very long time. I knew I needed to change my ministry focus.
The Adams family came back through town, on an even breifer (is that a word) visit than before! We did get to have breakfast with them, as well as J's cousin Sherry and her family from Grapevine. They were on their way home from a vacation in El Paso.
We got everyone back on the road to their homes and the girls and I packed for GA Camp. We had a wonderful 4 days of missions, Bible Study, Worship, and fun!
We came back home to clean house for a bridal shower of a wonderful newly married couple!
Sunday we got to celebrated Father's Day with my dad and mom and Keith and Judy! What a wonderful day for family.
Monday we began Soccer camp.... Allison that is. Keely got to hang our with me!
Next week is Tennis, Larry's knee replacement, and a visit from Larry's son Josh!

And the summer is not even half over!
I love that my job allows me to spend time opening my home to lots of different people, and spending time with my family!
Thank you Lord for blessing me beyond measure.

Mother's Day

I have had a great Mother's Day. I had breakfast cooked for me. I worshiped. And had dinner with a great mother and great mother-in-law and my sister.
This morning in church our Minister of Education made a great point. Not every woman has a child, but everyone has been touched by a mother. Some of our mothers have gone on to be with the Lord, let's remember them on this great day! I lost my Mother-in-law 2 1/2 years ago. She was a great woman! She loved the Lord and her family. She is missed! But God put another mother-in-law in may life. She does not replace Sue, she is an addition to my family. Judy loves the Lord and her family! How many people are blessed to have two fabulous mother-in-laws in their lifetime.
I have a great mother too! She has taught me many things. I can cook, do laundry, and clean house. She has also taught me to love my husband, love my children, and love the Lord. I am blessed to have a mother that loves the Lord and her family!
Thank you God for putting Godly women in my life!

I love Easter! Growing up I thought is was just about the Easter bunny, getting new clothes and hunting eggs! In 1985, I learned why we celebrate Easter. Jesus came to save us from our sins. We was crucified on a cross, buried, and rose again on the third day! So for 24 years, I have been celebrating a risen Savior! Thanks be to God for sending His Son to save a sinner named Heather!

I love going to church on Sundays. I get to fellowship with my Lord and Savior, fellow Christians, and children! What a wonderful day!
Sunday's seem to have an unusual business to them. We get up go to church, go out to dinner (or cook and clean), read the paper, get things ready for the beginning of the work week, and for some of us... go back to church, teach, and fellowship somemore! WOW! I am exhausted!
While on Spring Break I attended a Bible Study and we talked about the Sabbath. What is the Sabbath? I got to ponder for a long time the word Sabbath... What does it mean? What does it mean to a Christian? What does it mean to the world? What does it mean to me?
The dictionary says the following:

1.	the seventh day of the week, Saturday, as the day of rest and religious observance among Jews and some Christians. Ex. 20:8–11.

2.	the first day of the week, Sunday, similarly observed by most Christians in commemoration of the Resurrection of Christ.

3.	any special day of prayer or rest resembling the Sabbath

To me Sunday is not a day of rest. And for those of you who are ministers... it definately is not a day of rest for you! I think I, like most of those around me, have become set in our ways and think Sabbath is Sunday. That is when we go to church, pray and rest. I think I experience Sabbath on other days. Sometimes Friday is my Sabbath. Sometimes Monday is my Sabbath. I need to set aside a day to have my "Sabbath". Reflect on God's Word, Rest in His arms, be refreshed in His Spirit.

Spring Break!

We had a wonderful time during Spring Break! We were sponsors on a youth ski trip with our church. We went to wolf Creek, CO. We enjoyed hanging with the youth and skiing~ Man you don't feel old and out of touch until you are with 30 teenagers.! The kids were awesome and so well behaved! We had great food (thanks Jill) and wonderful Bible Study (thanks Aaron). And wonderful fellowship with adults and kids! Allison and Keely loved playing with the Coleman boys!
The skiing was great! J skied 3 days and i skied 2 days. The girls attended ski school for 2 days! They are awesome skiers now! I can't keep up with them.. Allison was even going off jumps!
We rented snowmobiles and pulled the kids on intertubes and sleds. And had snowball fights! We had a blast!

It has been some time since I have Blogged! We have been staying busy! We have begun and completed our upward Basketball experience for the year. Allison played basketball and Keely Cheered this year! We had a great time meeting new friends and seeing old ones too!
We have celebrated Valentines day! We had so much fun at our school parties. Then on Friday night J and I took the girls to dinner at Ogi's... A new restaurant in Odessa. They love going to high tea on Friday afternoons at Ogi's. On Saturday, Kelley, J's baby sister came for a visit! She brought her granddaughter Ariel with her.... It was great to spend time with them.. Although the visit was way to short.
We are now beginning soccer. Allison is the only one playing this season. Keely has decided to sit out again this season. So much more has been going on. Books have been read, teens have been hosted, Bible studies have been done.... I could go on! I am inculding a few pictures for you to enjoy. These are pictures of the last few months!

Ok, I know I am getting a little out of order... But.... You must wait a few more days for some Christmas Photos... The Kirk's are still celebrating and I will show you pictures from all our Chirstmas gatherings. The girls and I are now in the Houston area spending some much needed time with J's sisters.... J will join us on New Years Day!

Christmas Eve Thoughts

As I was baking Christmas Cookies this morning, I was listening to our liberal media. There were a few on the morning show saying how Christmas "sucked" (i hate that word by the way) And how everything about Christmas "S". I said to myself out loud, (yes I frequently talk to my self aloud) I LOVE Christmas! I love everything about Christmas! I love decorating, parties, Santa, The nativity, Church, the music, shopping, family, friends. I love everything about Christmas!
I felt sorry for the ones who feel like Christmas "s"! Where is their faith? Where is their family? Yes, there is a bunch of hustle and bustle during this time of year, But there are also times of quite! I try not to get caught up in the "hustle and bustle". I love to watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel while wrapping gifts. I love to watch Christmas movies with my family cuddled up on the couch. I love to see the joy of my family and friends when they open a gift I have purchased for them. I love to go to church and sing about the birth of Jesus! I love to go to Christmas pageants that children are involved in! I love to help those in need! Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of our Savior. We celebrate the miracle of Jesus! I want to pass on the joy that Jesus gives me to others.
I pray that you will slow down today... enjoy your family, friends, and attend a Christmas Eve service! Christmas is about the birth of our Savior... Celebrate!

Well, not really! But almost. I have had a blast decorating the house, J's office and my classroom. I love the Christmas holiday season. What a great time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. I love the Christmas musicals, pageants, and parties. I especially love attending church and reading about a young woman who listened to God and did what she was told. If you know me very well, you know I have a bit of a stubborn streak. I don't always like to be told what to do. I think my lesson I need to learn from Mary is to listen to God, no matter how crazy the instructions may sound, He knows what is best for me and His people. I am a vessel of God, no matter how cracked and warped I may be, I am a vessel none the less.
Lord, use me, as your vessel, to let your light shine to those around me. Let your Son be known through my hands, feet and voice.

I have been thinking this week of the things in which I am thankful. I wanted to come up with something profound. I realized the things we have to be thankful for are profound.... the miracles in life... I am thankful for a husband who loves me even when my hormones are haywire; I am thankful for two darling redheads; I am thankful for a beautiful home; I am thankful to be going to heaven one day; I am thankful for a church to worship in; I am thankful for my country; I am thankful for my dog, Rusty; I am thankful for friends; I am thankful for my education; I am thankful for my parents, my sister, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, mother in-law, father-in-law and nieces and nephew (some are greats).
I thank God each day for the blessing He gives me. But on Thanksgiving day, I seem to recall so much more..
Lord, let me slow down more often and give you thanks for your blessings!

Evacuees!

For a week, J's sister and her children have been with us. They thought Odessa was a great place to escape hurricane IKE. They left this morning. We said our goodbyes with tears in our eyes... this time there were more tears in the adults eyes.
Kay's husband stayed to ride out the storm and help take care of his parents in Baytown, and sister Kelley, Amber and Ariel, rode out the storm in north Houston.
<- Kelley's house----BIG tree , didn't go through house, Thank you God! Our family has been blessed No one lost a house, No one was injured, No major catastrophe happend to our family. There were trees and fences down and shingles gone (they are probably in Ohio now) but no major damage. I have attached a few photos to show their houses. Thank you Lord for your protection, I pray for those who were not as fortunate. Give them strength, peace and comfort. Watch over the victims and continue to provide the way only you can.

Beginning of a new school year!

This post is a little late... School began August 25. I guess we have been a little pre-occupied.
Soccer and dance have begun...Enough said.
Allison is in the 3rd grade and Keely is in the 1st grade!
School is going well. They both have wonderful teachers and are doing well! I have 14 kiddos, they keep me on my toes! I love it!

Well, I really never thought the time would come that I would give up certain things in my life. No I am not confessing a horrible addiction, I have given up things in my life that I have been a part of for a very long time. I am no longer teaching Sunday school. I have taught 6th grade Sunday school for 8 years. I am now a part of a great Sunday school class and being fed. I really feel that my ministry is changing. I am not sure what or where God wants me. I am open. Right now I really feel he wants me to be with my family more. Oh My, they are growing so fast and I don't want to miss any part!
Pray that God will continue to bless me, speak to me, and give me guidance.

Some people think I haven't updated in a while! (hahaha)

June - GA camp, Wedding, Slab leak in house, new office construction
July - new office construction, fixed ceiling in kitchen from leak, knock out cabinet over bar, install new lighting, paint hallways, refinance house, new office construction, Keely's birthday party, move into new office, teach summer enrichment, decorate new office, take girls to tennis camp, have lunch with old friends***** and July is not over yet!
I am ready for August to get here! I have more I want to get done before school starts... I can't believe I am saying that... I think it might be a sin to talk about school in July...
Hopefully I will have pictures for all of our "life" happenings.

Office Update #3

Hallelujah!
We have moved into the office, decorated and will be open for business in the morning. J. is still there with the computer guys, the office manager is still there, as well as the contractor. The girls and I got home at 10:15pm (It is now 10:35pm) There is still much to be done. * trim paint *2 doors need painting *carpet in massage area * massage area painted * kitchen finished * some more decor and greenery * anything else that comes up. But.... WE ARE IN!
I can't wait to take pictures and post them! It is beautiful!

We have had a very busy weekend!
We started it off with a movie. 2 of my friends and I went to see Get Smart! Hillarious!!!! 2 of the husbands went to see the Hulk... They said they were disappointed. Kids were farmed out. We had a great time.
Before the movie, J. and I took out the cabinets over the bar in the kitchen. That was the beginning of a weekend of manual labor! I have been painting ceilings, J. has been installing lights and patching the ceiling. Oh My! It will look fabulous when we are done. We will have that side of the house completed this weekend. I am about to paint trim on doorways and the hallway.
Last night we went to a friends parent's house way west of town. We had the best time. Fabulous food, fellowship and a fantastic fireworks display! The girls rode their bikes, rode on the Polaris, and had fun with friends!
I will post a few pictures tomorrow after the painting is finished (on that side of the house that is)

Channer Roach Wedding

We arrived home a few hours early from camp to get ready to go to Abilene for Jon and Kristy's wedding. Allison and Keely were flower girls and J. was a grooms man, and I was there for to keep Cheryl calm! The wedding was beautiful. We had a wonderful time. Jon and Kristy are a wonderful couple and the Lord will continue to bless them in so many ways.
We are so blessed to have friends like Ralph, Cheryl and Jon Jon, and now Kristy. They are wonderful people who love the Lord and are authentic. How many times during a lifetime you find friends like that. Thank you Ralph, Cheryl, Jon Jon and Kristy for allowing us to be apart of your wedding celebration. We are honored to call you friend. May the Lord continue to bless you as you begin your life as a new family.

Summer is here!

School is out!!!!
Hello summer here I come!
Today is my last day of teacher inservice days. The girls have been at mom and dad's having grandparent time with their cousin Amberlee.
Since Allison's birthday we have been busy in preparation for the end of school. So keep checking back for an update for the month of May!
We are ready for summer! I am ready to be home and slow down.
Not much planned for summer! We want to enjoy our house and pool!

The Party of the Century

On Friday April 18, my first born turned 8. We had a fabulous party! A luau at that. There were 82 (give or take) people at my house! We had a swimming, hula hoop contest, jump rope contest and limbo contest. We ran out of hotdogs, chips and cake! I do think everyone got cake....
We had a blast! We are still recooperating.... the party was 2 weeks ago and the decorations are still in the pool area. That will be one of my projects today... get the pool area back to normal.
Allison I hope your day was extra special! You are a wonderful young lady and we are blessed to have you as our first born. Thank you Lord for trusting us with this little girl. Give us the wisdom, strength and patience to raise her in Your ways.

My Cleaning lady is not very efficient - HELP!

My house is a mess! The pool area still has decorations up from the party of the century, my sewing room has a pathway through it; my kids rooms, I think the floor has disappeared. And the office has miscellaneous stuff lying around. Everyday I walk into those rooms I get very upset. The cleaning lady has not done her job. She has not picked up, put away and organized those rooms. She is not very good. She has to be told over and over what to do and she just does them in her own time. She is there all the time but seems to not get very much down. I really can't complain too much. She doesn't charge anything to do all the cooking, cleaning, and decluttering. When she does everything, she does a very good job... It's just getting her to do her duties! Hopefully she will be motivated very soon to get some things done! Pray for me!

The fever is gone!

The fever lasted only a few days! Now the weather is windy, dirty, hot, and just plain gross! The sky is not even blue, it is the color of dirt! Welcome to West Texas.

As I sit here "teaching" computers, I am longing to be somewhere else. The sun is shining... the birds are singing... the wind is blowing. Ok, I can do without the wind, but everything else is beautiful. I am stuck inside with children playing on the computer, singing to themselves with their headphones on, as hysterical as it sometimes can be.. I want to be outside! Yes, I said outside. I want to plant flowers, clean out flower beds, and sit on the porch and drink peach tea. I want to organize my craft room, organize the office, and finish decorating the girls rooms. But no, I am sitting in a classroom. Now don't get me wrong, I love my job. I love molding young minds, teaching them academics as well as morals, but right now it is hard! I have Spring fever!

Allison's birthday is Friday (can't believe she will be 8) We are having a luau at the house. You all know what that means... We are on a cleaning frenzy! I want everything perfect! I want the office clutter free (I may not have enough time to do that), the craft room clutter free (that probably won't happen), the girl's rooms spotless, J's side of the bathroom receipt free, the yard to look great, and the pool to sparkle. I don't think I am asking for too much do you? We have only been working on the yard for 2 weekends, in between soccer games and birthday parties. The house I have been decluttering for 2 weeks. Now to dust, sweep, mop, and finish the decluttering process.

I told you I have a fever! I am actually excited about cleaning. I am sure I am driving my family crazy!

Easter 2008

Jesus Christ is risen today Alleluia!
We began our day by worshiping our Risen Lord! What a privileged it is to be able to freely worship!

We arrived home and the Easter bunny had come to visit!

We then left for Lamesa to spend the rest of the day with Mom, Dad, and the O'Brien clan.
Kelby, Brendel and Amberlee spent the night with Ma and Papa and went to Sunday School and church with us. Karrie and Branden stayed home and cooked for everyone.

We ate, dyed a few eggs and then hunted some eggs!
Can you believe we had to hunt eggs in our coats! It was really cold! We had a really great rain! Thank you God for the rain. We have not had rain in for ever!

Yeah! Spring Break is here!
We get to stay home!
Kay, Gerald, Katelyn and Lauren stayed a few nights with us on their way to the Grand Canyon. We had a great time.

Kay is boxing on the wii. We all were pretty sore after playing the Wii this weekend.

We had dinner with Harold and Judy.

And all the girls had fun playing all weekend!

We wish Kelley, Amber, and Ariel could have been here too.!

New Office!

We have purchased a new office for the clinic. We are waiting on permits... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting.

Another tooth gone

Allison finally lost her 3rd tooth.... What DRAMA! We have been working on this tooth for 2 weeks. Finally I told her she had 3o min. to pull it, after that Daddy was going to pull it. Daddy ended up pulling it!

Finally, Saturday, March 15, J. pulled it!

Easter Pagaent 08

Every year the 1st and 2nd graders at St. John's do an Easter pageant. This is my favorite program of the year! It is so impressive! Allison, as a 2nd grader, had a speaking part.

Keely and J, before the pageant. J. was not feeling great, he had just had a tooth pulled. But he was being a good dad and came to the pageant despite the pain!

Soccer has officially begun!
Allison's team Pink Lightning played one game Saturday. They were awesome! They smoked them 8 to 0. They really worked like a team!
Keely's team the Daisies played a game Saturday and one Monday. They won the 1st game 13 to 0 and lost the second 13 to 3. They played very well.

This is just the beginning of our Saturdays being filled! It is worth it!
Saturday night I sang with a couple of friends in a Lawrence Welk show for our SR. Adults in our church. We had a blast! I love that music!

Upward!

Allison and Keely participated in Upward Odessa this year! They both loved it!
Keely was a cheerleader and was way into it and Allison was a star on her team.

this is just a short video of Allison and not a very good one at that... After the game next week I will post another.

Ok, This is only 15 days late! I have not been very good about posting. But hey! It has been busy around here!
Ready for a quick catch up!
Christmas was great!
Ralph, Cheryl and Jon Jon came on the 23rd and we spent Christmas with them. Next year Kristi will be part of the family!!! We can't wait... Wedding is June 21, 2008.
They spoiled us as usual!
My friends and I sang on the 17th for St. John's staff party. We had so much fun!
On the 23rd we sang for a friend's family party... Great fun! Those Golden's know how to party!
Christmas Eve we went to Harold and Judy's and spent the afternoon with them. Tiff and Branden were there too. We had a wonderful time.
Off to Church for the Christmas Eve service. Michael asked me to sing. I was so honored... To be asked to sing on Christmas Eve...WOW! After church we went with the Morris' to Texas Burger and then to deliver their gift! Thank God for great friends.
Christmas day. Well... I think I'll put that day on a new post!
Houston... Saw my great niece, Ariel... she is precious. Didn't get to hold her because of hacking and coughing! Next time!

Now here we are... back in the swing of things... well, sort of.
We have done Allison's science project, and she has given the report and is ready for the Science fair on Thursday.
Keely's project is a dinosaur diarama. We will be working on it frantically this week. It is due Thursday! Being sick and having projects to do is not fun.. Oh, did I mention I have felt crummy the past few days. But as a mom, you just gotta keep going!
Allison and Keely have started Upwards Basketball and Cheerleading. They had their first game. They both loved it!
Keely loved Cheering and Allison loved playing. Hopefully I will be able to figure out how to put video on here.
Allison is home sick (at Ma's house)... Keely wants to be sick at Ma's house!

New Years Resolutions.....
Nope not me! My sister-in-law says why wait till January 1, or a Monday.... Start now! I like that motto. So I am going to keep on doing what I am doing. I will continue to set new goals for myself all the time.

I must say that life has been a little busy! We've had Halloween and Thanksgiving since my last post. I just couldn't let Christmas sneak by too.
Halloween...
We had a great time at Kooky Karnival (the only St. John's fund raiser of the year)the Saturday before Halloween. We had a great time visiting friends and family on Halloween night. Keely was Tinkerbell and Allison was a Rock Star. I was the queen of hearts once again.

Thanksgiving...
Thanksgiving was a blessed time. There were over 30 people at the house and it snowed (alot). We spent time with family that we have not spent time with in a long time. And there were some that are always here that did not get to come this year. We missed them. It was great to be surrounded by people who love you. We are blessed to have a family that gets along and loves being with each other.
Now...
Tis the Season. Trees are up (3 to be exact and 2 more coming). Presents are bought.... (not all wrapped, any volunteers). Christmas cards sent. Parties attended. Christmas musical performed. Pageants being prepared. Travel arrangements being made. Party being planned. House being cleaned...
Does it end.? I am remembering to not sweat the small stuff and if it doesn't have garland hanging from it....it is ok. The real reason for the season is Jesus!
We give because He gave.

Inspiration

As I grow older, I often wonder if my life is inspiring to anyone. When I listen to the song, Legacy, by Nicole Nordeman, I wonder if you have something nice to say about me. Then I remember that it is not man that I am here to please. (Although it is nice to have a pat on the back now and then. My personality definately thrives on those little "Atta girl" statements. ) I know I am here to serve my Lord and Savior. He is the only one I need to compare myself to. He is the one who is my judge. He is the one I will be spending eternity with. He is the only one that should count. I struggle with letting the Lord be my measuring stick. Not that it is difficult to measure up, but that I love the occasional pat on the back. I have to sit back and be aware of the "pats on the back" the Lord gives me. They are not as evident as the physical ones my friends and family give me.
Even though I love and thrive on receiving praise, it is hard for me to hear compliments and have someone do something nice for me. Strange, I know. I am used to being the one to give the praise and give of myself for others. I very wise friend once told me that if I don't accept the offering of kindness from others, I would be insulting them.
OK. I am stepping out of my box. I am working on it.
My dear friend kept my children while J. and I went out of town. I kept telling her that we owed her.... She continued to say no....
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Whether I like it or not, I am an inspiration to others. Will I know who they are? No, not likely. My reward is with my Father. When I get to heaven I am sure I will see all those people that He has allowed me to "touch".

Addition to the Family

In September we added a new family member. Ricardo came to live with us until Christmas. He is attending Permian High School and is a blessing to us all. He is from Brazil. Living with us is a new experience. In Brazil he has 2 older brothers. Here he is the older brother with 2 younger sisters. He is always so kind to them. He is very bright and so easy to talk to. I tell him all the time that he is just too easy!
Of course, the girls adore him. He is a wonderful young man!

Just before Ricardo came to live with us, Rusty came into our lives. Rusty is a Welsh terrier or something like that. He is a precious dog that our friend Kim Wells found roaming the streets of Odessa. She tried her best to contact the owners, but none were to be found. She knew we were looking for a dog. He was the perfect fit for our family. He comes in while we are home and is outside when we are gone. He has captured the hearts of all who meet him.

Chirstmas is Coming

As I sit and begin planning the holiday, I become a bit overwhelmed at the events and people that demand my time. So... I sit take 10 deep breaths, get out my planner and let my pencil (Not pen, because I am hoping somethings will get erased) begin to fly across the page. I schedule parties, singing engagements, school pageants, church performances, and time with special people. Then It hits me... I am triple booked! UGH! Now time to prioritize!
1. God - need that time to get me through everything else!
2. My family
3. My job (which I love)
4. My friends
5. My church
Wow, that was hard to place them in an order. They all are so important, but when you triple book, and have to choose. It is good to know who or what comes first.
Now on to the Christmas list. I always make a gift giving list and budget, then begin shopping in October (I am a little behind). Thanks to Kathy Firkins, www.kathyfirkins.com , who got me started on the whole holiday planner kick. AND thanks to Julie Brooks for the cute planner design at www.juliejeanbrooks.com . I am well on my way to a stress free ( well from the planning) Holiday.
With all the hullabalu going on during the holiday season, I still remember why we celebrate!
Jesus is my salvation, my hope, my friend, my teacher, and my confidant. I can't imagine where I would be without Him. Thank you Lord for saving my soul. Thank you Lord for giving me hope. Thank you Lord for loving me.

Stretched far and wide

As I was typing the title to this post, I couldn't help think of being stretched physically, getting wider in the stomach, waist, thighs, etc. Well that is not what I mean by being stretched far and wide. Although I have been there and am trying to reverse it!
I feel so torn between the things I want to do, have to do and need to do. There are so many things I want to do, but don't seem to be able to get them done because of the things I have to do and need to do. It seems that the have to and need to list continues to grow daily.
I am struggling with balancing everything.
Lord,
Help me to prioritize my life. Make the important things in the forefront and the small less important things in the back. Help me to feel like a good mom, wife, teacher, friend.

Creativity - Finally

Life Changes

We became new parents on Saturday. Ricardo from Brazil came to live with us. In addition to Ricardo, we added a new puppy to our household. Rusty is a cutie!
We are adjusting to adding another person to our home. He is a delight to have and feel very blessed to have him as a part of our family.

I feel that I am entering a new world. I am entering deeper into the computer age. I realize daily that I am losing touch with technology. I am becoming the old person that is out of touch with modern technology and doesn't even know how to hook up the cable. I am trying to change that. I am becoming someone I said I would never become.
